Darwins 201th Birthday

Today is Charles Darwin’s 201st birthday as well as the 151st anniversary of the publication of his famous book ,The Origin of Species. Darwin transformed the way we think about life as well as our understanding of how nature continues to diversify into it’s many bounds of variety.  Darwin understood the beat of life.

When I designed The Darwin Storm I wanted to capture Darwin’s immense contributions in an intense way.  I felt that lightning was the perfect way to communicate this message.  Lightning resets a habitat by creating fire and when fire destructs a forest it resets the grounds for fertile beginnings much like Darwin reset our understanding and reasoning of life itself.

Blog talkin and blog walkin

We are going to be posting a lot of different stuff in our blog. Including: Art from us and others that inspire us, random things we find funny, info on Danka, deals we have going on and everything in between. Don’t worry this isn’t going to only be about shirts and Danka Clothing. We want to have actual discussions about why that baby is ugly…Wait what? But seriously we will be updating this thing so subscribe to the rss if it strikes your fancy. We always encourage comments and will do our best to comment back.

Before I go I will leave you with a quote that I really liked

“Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.” Kurt Vonnegut
